Why are so Few Western Progressives Speaking Out for the Iranian People?

When reality can't be explained by the ideological paradigm that frames one's worldview, the option for most is to deny reality and double down on the paradigm - regardless of who suffers as a result.

Few things would make me happier than a transformative paradigm in which Palestinians would live free and sovereign alongside a State of Israel whose citizens, Arab and Jewish, would be eternally safe and secure.
With neither Palestinians nor Jews going anywhere, the enduring safety and security of both are reliant upon the other achieving the same.
It is for this reason that, when I criticize the so-called Pro-Palestine movement, my intention is not to oppose Palestinian freedom, but rather to highlight that, through their words and actions, individuals with my perspective demonstrate a more genuine commitment to achieving meaningful Palestinian liberation than many who have made ‘the cause’ central to their identity.
Whilst some who have lent their voices to the movement have the best interests of ordinary Palestinians in mind, the movement as a whole does not.
