The Imaginary Israelis

How similar is the Israel of the Middle East to the Israel that exists in the minds of those in the West? Why is there a disparity between the two? And who should be most concerned about it?

Since the invasion of Israel, two years ago, by Hamas and other Palestinian terror groups, along with a number of civilians, three declared Israeli aims have remained constant:
1) to return the hostages
2) to remove the threat of terror from Gaza
3) to ensure that Hamas will not play a role in the future ruling of Gaza
Today, the first of these aims was achieved.
If President Trump’s 21-point plan will be carried out in full, the further Israeli aims of security and the sidelining of Hamas will follow. It remains to be seen whether this will be the case.
The full implementation of this plan would, perhaps, be viewed, ultimately, as defeat for Hamas - however, it would surely be a positive development for those Gazans who want to live in peace and prosperity under a Palestinian leadership that seeks to provide for its people and not sacrifice their lives in the name of Jihad.
That millions on the streets of the West are openly opposing this deal that prioritizes the security and future development of Palestinians over the nihilist ideology of Hamas, should concern the sane people of the West as much as it concerns Israelis and Jews around the world.
